Davis at Age 4

Our sweet Davis boy has blossomed into a very pleasant 4 year old! He's basically the cutest thing ever and makes life so fun. (Though he definitely still has his crazy moments and definitely keeps us on our toes! He has a fierce temper and a very strong will. He knows exactly what he wants to have happen at all times. :)

He's currently in his second year of preschool at Ridgeline but this picture is from early this year when he was still in his first year of preschool at Ridgeline.

He's gotten into puzzles this year and made a lot of improvement!

Field trip with his "Wendy School" class to the firestation. (He did two preschools last year, each for two days a week. "Ariel School" at Ridgeline and "Wendy School".

Lots of playing at the park with Violet.

He's really started to love to draw this year. I love how creative and focused he is.

I feel like he learned how to actually play with a lot of things this year instead of just throwing things ha ha.

I can't handle his smile.

At his Wendy School graduation.

Davis loves Miss Wendy!

At his graduation from his first year of preschool at Ridgeline! He loves his teachers, especially Miss Val. (Left to right is Miss Ariel, Miss Mandy, and Miss Val. They're his teachers again this year!)

Cutest graduate ever.

He loves yard projects and helping.

I feel like this year started with Cameron being the preferred parent and switched to me being the preferred parent. I think I just let them get away with a lot more because I'm lazy. :) Cameron and Davis have a very sweet relationship though!

Fordy and Davis are such good buddies!

Davis loves his morning waffles, often served with yogurt. We went through a few month stint where all he would eat in the morning were waffles. And he was very particular about every surface having butter and syrup. He's an extremely picky eater and most of the time doesn't eat his dinner. We try to hold strong and tell him the only food we're having is what is already prepared for dinner, but he often talks me into a banana on the way up to bed. He loves mac n cheese, hot dogs, cereal, yogurt, and has just started liking eggs. He told me today, "I'm an egg man and a corn man. I like eating both of those things."

He's very silly and such a fun sense of humor.

Pictured here is a pack n play, but we still have him sleep in his crib. Much to everyone's surprise, he still naps most days! For a good 2-3 hours too. And still sleep 10 hours at night. I think it's because he's an energizer bunny all day. We think there's a strong chance he gets out of his crib during naps and then gets back in and wants to keep it a secret from us that he gets out. We are actually totally fine with that ha ha. As you can see here, he loves his dino blanket so much it's gotten holes in it. He was putting his head through the holes so we had to get him a new one. :)

Davis started swimming lessons this summer! They were kind of intense private swimming lessons where he was forced to learn to float quickly. Every day he dreaded going, but it was cool to see him rally and try during the lessons. I think he improved for sure.

Davis LOVES going to the farm. It's one of our favorite places to go with him.

He loves to show us his strong muscles.

First day of school with his good buddy Trey Stanley.

Davis started a music class (Sound Beginnings) with his friend Theo Cragun! His teacher is Miss Jessica and he loves it. He's by far the most energetic in the class and makes everyone laugh. He and Theo also started going to the same preschool this year.

Cutest shot ever of Maxy and Davis.

Theo, Davis, and Demi! This year Davis has really started playing with friends a lot more. It's very cute.

Andy and Davis at their well child visits!

Davis lovesss to help me in the kitchen. This was us making muffins.

Davis started tumbling classes in the fall! He loves it and likes to show us his tricks. His favorite trick is star jumps on the trampoline.

A very cute Trey and Davis shot.

Love this guy and his silliness! Lots of watching soccer games with him. He loves to go to games.

Davis doing art is the best thing ever. I love hearing about what each of his drawings are and getting a glimpse into his brain.

Brought him this back from NYC and he wore it everywhere for a few days.

Cutest school picture this year.

A cute playdate with Trey and Tagg.

Fordy and Davis shoveling snow during a playdate.

Davis has become friends with Clark Garlock this year and they're very sweet buddies. They gave each other their school pictures.

Cutest drawing ever of his family.
One of Davis's latest creations: he turned Tigger into a "bad guy." He has a screw driver taped into his hand and other odd objects taped to him. He's carried him around like this for a week now.

This is an elephant Davis made a couple of weeks ago. He's very into making creations these days and ends up stapling together and taping together a bunch of things. They're very cute.
  • Other notable items not pictured: the crazy Davis event of the year happened in June when we couldn't find him for thirty minutes. We checked all the usual spots in the neighborhood and then started driving around. We found his house about a quarter mile away in front of a house we don't know very well. We knocked on the door thinking they'd come to the door and say Davis was inside and weren't sure whose kid he was. Instead, Davis came to the door by himself. And it gradually become clear he was the only one home and had just let himself in to the house. He said they had a cat and a fun lobster toy.
  • I don't have a picture of Davis on his scooter but I love the way he zips around. He's so fast! And he holds his leg out. It's very cute.
  • He still thinks some of his best friends are big kids in the neighborhood, like Owen and Addie Avarell. He's a social guy and loves to be with people.
  • For Christmas he says he wants "the thing to look at stars" (telescope) and a dinosaur umbrella. He also added today that he wants roller skates. :)
  • His favorite thing to watch is his "Bear Show" which is actually "Grizzly and the Lemmings." Lately he's been asking to watch "The Nightmare Before Christmas." He's really into Halloween stuff in general.
  • We've really seen Davis's overall development really explode this year! He's talking so well and has become a lot more articulate. He seems to be a lot more rational overall. I've used this to my advantage and threaten him several times a day with statements like, "Davis come get your clothes on right now or you'll lose your screen time today." I probably won't win any parenting awards, but it works to get him to do things for now.
  • He loves to read book before naps and before bed. He also loves to sit and read with me on the couch. He really loves all books, but I see him read a lot of big thick animal encyclopedia books intended for older kids. He loves to look at the pictures. He also loves to read "Corduroy," "But No Elephants," and he really had a long stint of wanting the "pirate book," which really is just a book patterned after the Disneyland Pirates of the Caribbean ride. He's started to "read" books to me, which is the cutest thing ever. I'm surprised at how many of the exact words and phrases he remembers when he reads me Corduroy.
  • He's at school tuesday-friday mornings, but after he comes home and has lunch he and I usually spend some time together. Usually it's reading books, jumping on the trampoline (Davis's favorite), or doing puzzles.
  • He is very independent. I'll often come into the kitchen and find him doing something like pouring himself chocolate milk. He'll slide a chair to the fridge and everything.
  • He loves to listen to music and is always asking the Alexa to play things. He loves Tarzan and Nightmare Before Christmas.
