Davis at 16 months

Our Davis has grown so much since I last wrote about him! He's in the throws of full-blown toddlerhood now and is such a big boy. We love Davis so much and are so grateful for the sweetness and cuteness he he adds to our home. Some things to remember about him: 

• Up until 2-3 months ago, he had the sweetest, chillest temperament. Now he's done a 180 and is an angry little man most of the time ha ha. I think he's developed a sense of self and has some really really strong opinions about everything. He still can be really sweet and silly but there's a lot of throwing/hitting/temper tantrums in there too. :) 
• He loves to tease! He's very silly and loves for people to chase him around. He has the cutest laugh you've ever heard. 
• He loves to read books, especially books with flaps. His favorite is "Dear Zoo" and wants us to read it to him 20 times in a row and gets really mad when you stop. 
• He started walking consistently right around the first week of September. He surprised us all at how quickly he picked it up all of a sudden. Now he runs all over the place and he's fast! 
• Following the family trend, his teeth came in very late. He got his first tooth at 12-13 months and still only has 4 teeth. 
• He loves to dance and does the cutest little squat dance move whenever music comes on. 
• He's favorite activity is to throw things down the stairs. We have to cover our heads as we walk upstairs just in case he's about to attack. He's also ruined all our houseplants and throws the dirt everywhere from them (including inside our piano!). Our fiddle fig leaf tree has been sitting on top of our dining room table for about a month to protect it from him. 
• He is into EVERYTHING. We call him Davis the Destroyer. Everything that can be locked up is. Most things are moved up high. All doors are shut all the time with childproof locks on them, otherwise he ruins the other kids toys, splashes in toilets, etc.
• His favorite toys are dinosaurs (he loves to growl when he's holding them), building blocks, and animals in general. Especially dogs. He also likes cars. 
• He doesn't like when I'm doing yoga or playing the piano. He starts throwing things at me or pulls my hands off the piano. 
• He still hasn't figured out how to go downstairs. He can go up super fast, but doesn't know how to go down. We should probably teach him, but we kinda like being able to control his location a bit. :)
• He's gone from being a really good eater to much more picky! He's the king of throwing all of his food and it's driving us insane. We've recently tried switching him to a booster up at the counter to see if it helps. Not sure? He's also starting to get better at using utensils, which is helping a little too. 
• He's talking a bit! I think his first word was either "dada" or "thank you." I've heard him say mama a few times. If you ask him what a dog says, he'll say, "woof!" We're considering cutting up his binkies to help with language development. We're wondering if he'd be happier if he could communicate a little better. 
• He really likes to go places. He's always really well behaved when we're out and about. I think he gets bored at home?
