Violet's 8th Birthday

Our girl turned 8! She's very into American Girl dolls, so most of her gifts were related to dolls. I gifted her my Kirsten doll (after she'd made a visit to the doll hospital).

We went to Sol Agave to celebrate her birthday as a family.

We had a fantastic party with tons of her cute friends! We had a cereal bar for dinner, we watched the Parent Trap, and played fun games.

Max and Graham were so cute. All on their own they decided to be a butler and a chef for the party. They did so much prep. They made menus for the girls, took their orders, made their cereal, and got them drinks. They were so cute and very serious about it.

I can't handle her. I love her so much.

The cute menus Max and Graham made.

I think Max's chef name was "Pierre."

Cutest besties, Violet and Monroe.

We did a fun game we used to play at my parties growing up where the kids passed around a choclate bar wrapped in foil and tried to break it open with a fork while holding an oven mitt.

The girls all brought their dolls and Max and Graham had the idea to hide the dolls in the basement all doing funny things. Their hiding spots really cracked me up.

Violet loves donuts and wanted a donut cake.

A cute cousin shot. Penny and Grace got to sleep over after the party.

NYC!

We took a magical trip to NYC! Back when my mom was on her mission I had the idea that we should go together for Violet's 8th birthday. It was the best! Violet and I went with my mom and Abby.

We flew in and went straight to Times Square! (After a very delayed flight)

The next morning we walked the High Line and went to Chelsea Market. After about 10 minutes of walking, Violet said she was tired and asked if we were just going to walk this trip. :) I don't think she was prepared for allll the walking we did, but she was a trooper!

These two have always had the sweetest bond.

Mom and her naps

We saw Aladdin on the first night. It was awesome!

Violet bought a mini-verse toy at Target and my mom and Abby were very cute helping her put it together.

Bike ride around central park!

Violet at 8 years old is magic.

We went to the MoMa!

Violet wanted to take pictures of a lot of the art to show her art teacher.

Violet absolutely adores Abby. Also, Abby did her hair most of the trip and Violet loved it and now always wants me to do space buns.

We saw Wicked!

We had a yummy dinner at Tony's.

Violet says the hilight of the trip was going to the American Girl store. Kathy made these darling dresses for Violet to match her doll Brooklyn.

A picture with my favorite doll Kirsten.

We had brunch in the cafe.

Brooklyn got her hair done in the salon.

We loved looking allll around the store. My childhood self loved every second of it.

Such a magical trip! Time to go home.
