More October

Christine and Sam were in town for a few days before the wedding, so we got to play.  We went to the zoo, the Children's Museum, the park, and they even joined in our field trip to the pumpkin patch with joy school.  

I think this picture is hilarious.

The pumpkin Andy picked.  Max's was bigger, so by the time we got home, Andy decided the bigger one was actually his and this one was Max's.  :)

We went on the most beautiful hike up Mueller Park Canyon.  Oh my goodness, the colors!  I don't think there's a prettier place in the fall.  Andy loved it--the first half.  :)  He brought a bag and collected leaves. 

My boys love their grandpa!

She'll kill me for posting this, but Max looks so happy!  Poor Cameron's Grandma had a fall and broke her back. :(  She was in the hospital and then a rehab center the whole month.  We went to visit as often as we could.

Andy made himself at home on GG's bed.  And helped himself to her crackers.

I had another half marathon, the Haunted Half in Salt Lake.

Max's birthday was fun!  It was a thursday, so it was mostly a normal day.  We stayed home and played.  We got some frozen yogurt.  So fun to celebrate our little sweetheart!

Halloween Festivities

We had such a great Halloween this year!  Andy was totally into it.  He wore my costume from when I was little!  I remember wearing this dinosaur costume in kindergarten and thinking it was the coolest thing ever.  Andy felt the same way and wore it with pride.  Max was a little chicken.  Cutest little chicken ever, by the way.  We did lots of celebrating:

Decorating sugar cookies with the Cramers.  (They were there, I promise.  I don't know why we didn't get a picture with them!) We also had the Taggarts over for decorating, round 2.  (Also, sadly, not pictured.)

We decorated cookies again at my parents' house!  What can I say--we love cookies.

We had a fun party with Texas friends.  These cuties have all been buds since they were little babies!

We painted pumpkins.  I gave Andy all these colors to use, but he just stirred them all together and made black.  :)

We carved a pumpkin!  Andy named him, "Bagel."

Andy had a Halloween party at Joy School.  I'm telling you--age 3 is pretty much the cutest thing ever.

Trick-or-treating at dad's work!

Here's a shot from the actual trick-or-treating Halloween night!  We went around my parents' neighborhood for a bit after having chili and cornbread.  Then we finished up in our neighborhood.

Park City Staycation (AKA the time Andy pulled the hotel fire alarm)

We had a fun staycation in Park City mid-September.  My parents had a room at Marriott Mountainside they weren't using, so we went up on for a Wednesday and Thursday.  I was mostly by myself Wednesday; Cameron came up after work and took Thursday off.  We had so much fun! It's really the first time we've done a trip, just our little family.  I guess we've always figured it would be more work than it'd be worth, but it ended up being great! Now we're motivated to take the boys on more trips.  :)

I headed up Wednesday morning for a trip to the outlets with my mom.  After that, I headed to Marriott Mountainside to check in and put Max down for a nap.  Max slept just great in his Pea Pod in the bathroom.  (The same old trick we used with Andy.) After nap time, I took the boys swimming.  The weather was really amazing, especially for that time of year.  When Cameron got back from work, we headed downtown and had dinner at Blue Iguana.  I should probably mention that on our way out the door, Andy pulled the fire alarm in the hallway.  The reality of what he'd just done slowly set in as we realized the entire hotel was being evacuated.  Flashing lights, a loud speaker saying, "There is an emergency. Please proceed to the nearest stairs and exit," people frantically grabbing their coats and rushing to evacuate, etc.  True to form, I couldn't stop laughing. I kept trying to cover up my face by holding Max up, so I wouldn't give away what had really happened.  We confessed Andy's crime to the front desk and then left that place, ASAP.  We pulled away just as the crowds were really gathering in front of the hotel.  Ha! Always a good time with our Andy.  Dinner was nice--kind of.  We were quickly reminded that it's just not worth to go to "sit down" places with our boys.  :) We walked around main street for a while after that, then went back and went to bed.

Thursday morning I went for a nice run.  Then we all headed out for a hike at Guardsman's Pass.  Oh my, it was absolutely GORGEOUS.  The colors in Park City in the fall are unbelievable.  We ended up doing a couple mile hike to a little lake.  Andy did great the first half, not so much the second half. His little legs were tired.  Afterwards, we picked up a pizza and had lunch at a park then let the boys play.  After giving Max a nap, we went swimming again.  (I think?  My mom brain is having trouble remembering!) We ate dinner at Cafe Rio on our way back down to Salt Lake later that night.  

Short and sweet, but perfect!

Family Pictures

We got family pictures taken about a month ago at FotoflyAway at Thanksgiving Point.  What can I say--we love that place!  We're so happy with how they turned out.  Andy was hamming it up and loved having his picture taken.  Max wasn't as smiley as normal, I think because he just was a little unsure about being in a new place with a photographer he didn't know.  But I think we still got some great shots!  Here are (a lot) of highlights.
